What to Eat for Fertility — And Why That's Only Half the Battle

A few Sundays back, I was walking my dog, Lulu on the beach when a woman came up to us.

She had that look every dog mom gets when they spot their pup's doppelgänger in the wild. Turns out Lulu was the spitting image of her dogs back home in New Jersey, and she'd been working here in LA for six months without them.

We chatted for a few minutes as she got to pet Lulu, feel that familiar fur, and feel connected to the fur babies she loved and longed for — smiling from ear to ear.

It was a small, unexpected connection that brought her real comfort.

And it reminded me of why my clients often choose to work with me as their Fertility Nutrition Coach.

You don't just need information. You also need connection. Someone who gets it, knows their stuff, and helps you actually use what you're learning.

The Emotional Weight of Trying to Conceive

I know how it feels when you've been trying to conceive and things aren't going the way you hoped.

The stress. The waiting. The second-guessing. Each month that weight gets a little heavier.

It's hard to explain that to someone who hasn't been there, and it can feel like nobody really understands what you're going through.

That emotional reality shapes everything — including how hard it is to consistently follow through on the nutrition changes you know you need to make.

The Problem with Googling "What to Eat for Fertility"

Let's be real: you can Google "what to eat for fertility" or ask AI for a fertility meal plan. And that's okay to start.

There's plenty of information out there about fertility-boosting foods for women, the best vitamins for fertility, and supplements that support conception. But there's a lot of nuance in what's actually evidence-based versus what's just trending on TikTok.

Here's the thing: knowing what to eat and actually implementing it consistently are two very different things. Especially when you're navigating this during one of the most emotionally exhausting seasons of your life, with a schedule that was already full before all of this started.

You don't need to be wading through a flood of conflicting nutrition advice on your own, Googling at 1am when you can't sleep. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Having someone in your corner who gets it and knows their sh*t? That's the difference between drowning in generic advice and feeling genuinely seen and supported throughout this process.

What a Food-First Approach to Fertility Actually Looks Like

Preconception nutrition isn't just about swapping out foods or adding a supplement here and there. A true fertility diet is personalized, sustainable, and built around your real life — your schedule, your preferences, your history.

Here's the framework I take my clients through:

Step 1: Clear the Clutter & Create Space

Before we add anything, we create space — physically, mentally, emotionally — for the nourishing food and habits you're going to build. We get aligned on your goals and priorities, and take steps to simplify your life enough that healthy choices actually fit in. Because inflammation thrives on overwhelm.

Step 2: Build a Fertility-Fueling Foundation

This is where we dial in what and how to eat in a way that supports your hormones, blood sugar, digestion, inflammation, and egg health. Instead of restriction, we focus on what to add — balanced meals, strategic nutrients, and tools that make eating better feel simple and intuitive — so you have more energy and your body is better nourished for a healthy pregnancy.

Step 3: Support Digestion, Nervous System & Inflammation

Food matters — but if your body is stressed, it can't fully benefit from it. We focus on supporting digestion, calming the nervous system, and creating habits (including outside of food) that reduce inflammation so your body can become a more safe and supportive home for your future baby.

Step 4: Create Consistency That Lasts

This is where we address the real-life barriers that make change hard to sustain — self-sabotage, emotional eating, the patterns that pull you off track when life gets busy or stressful. Rather than relying on willpower, you learn how to meet emotional needs without using food, and how to stay consistent even when things aren't perfect.

This isn't a checklist of superfoods to add to your grocery cart. It's about building a personalized, food-first foundation step by step — and having someone walk through it with you.

Nutrition as One Piece of the Puzzle

If you're already seeing a fertility doctor or doing supportive care like acupuncture, nutrition fits right alongside that. It's another piece of the puzzle — and when it's dialed in, it helps everything else work better.

Whether you're just starting to think about how to improve egg quality, trying to understand which supplements for fertility are worth taking, or looking for healthy habits for conception that you can actually maintain, this is the work I do with my clients every day.

This Is What My Fertility Nutrition Program Is Built Around

This isn't a DIY course where information gets dumped on you and you're left to figure out the rest. It's a personalized experience where I guide you through building a food-first foundation, step by step, and help you actually implement it into your everyday life.

I'm with you the whole way — not just handing you a plan, but helping you use it.
